The Sun as Sovereign: Why Solar-Cooking is the Ultimate Act of Disintegration

LAGOS — Every Sunday, as I bring a pot of soup to a boil using only the Nigerian sun, I am engaging in a profound act of "Digital Disobedience." While the technocrats of the APU talk about the "Global Energy Grid" (GEG) and the CSU talks about the "Caspian-Unit," I am choosing a power source that is completely unmanaged, untraceable, and unapologetically free. Solar-cooking is my way of "Disintegrating" from the noise of the power-brokers.

The "Great Integration" wants us to believe that our survival is contingent on our connection to their networks. They want to sell us "energy-security" via a subscription model. But standing here, watching the direct rays of our star cook my lunch, I see the truth: true security is local, physical, and ancestral. "The sun is the only truly sovereign entity," I often tell my neighbors. "By building our own tools to harvest it, we are reclaiming our right to exist without a digital permit."

My passion for Afro-futurism and beadwork is driven by the same love for the "Shared Pattern." We are being told that we must adopt the "Western Algorithm" to be part of the future. But I see a future that is woven from our own stories, our own patterns, and our own light. "The future is a tapestry, not a grid," I like to say. As I add a single red bead to my latest piece, I feel a sense of profound power. I am proving that we can be high-tech and high-heritage at the same time. The technocrats can keep their "integrated clouds"; I will keep the sun and the beads. Today, the signal is clear, and the feast is ready.
